I decided to do a breakdown of which is better, and thought I should share it with you guys so perhaps it can help you decide which is better. You do not have access to the entire library as you cannot remotely swap discs. Verdict: I personally concluded that if money isn't the concern, digital download is certainly more convenient for not having to swap discs and allowing the access of your entire library for remote play. However, if you are more concerned about making a financially conscious decision, it seems to make more sense to buy physical discs as you can sell it later on when you beat the game; esp if it's a single player campaign orientated game.

Another dynamic to factor in is ps4 download vs disc if you often bring your games to your friend's house to play on their PS4 or if you often lend your games, ps4 download vs disc disc is also the preferred option.

So for myself, I've decided to go with physical discs as it's the better investment for your hard-earned money at a minor inconvenience of having to swap discs when I want to change the game. One reason I like digital I'm really surprised more people don't know about this. Me and my brother have been doing it since like with the ps3. At the start you could, but like half way through the ps3's life they changed it to just 2 people.

However, if u did game share before the terms changed, you got to keep all those games that were downloaded. Wait, you can both play online at the same time?

You play on a "secondary" console but your just logged in and he logs in to the PSN but on your primary console? Yup I play on my account and he plays on his own. Played through dying light co-op without buying a second copy, ps4 download vs disc. Yeah, I do the same except with a friend. I haven't paid full price for a PS4 game yet. You have a friend set your primary ps4 on your account to his ps4 and vice versa.

Any games that you buy, he will be able to log in to your profile and download ps4 download vs disc and play on his console, and again, same for you. Then either person can use those codes and purchase the game you two want. So I buy a game on my console as the secondary and he then logs in on his console as me as the primary and we can both play online, e. Battlefield, how do we not have the same name in game though?

Or does he log in as himself as the secondary his actual account on his console? He logs ps4 download vs disc your account to download the game. He can then go on his account or any other account and play the game.

You can both play the game at the same time as well. Basically, except that there really isn't a "secondary" account. A Playstation can have ps4 download vs disc many accounts call it their primary console as you want. Accounts are limited to having one primary console, ps4 download vs disc, however. Can you explain how this works in a step-by-step manner? First let me see if I understand. I buy a game on my PS4, ps4 download vs disc.

Then get my bro to sign as me on his PS4, then he downloads the game on his system. We then both booth up the game on each of our consoles at the same time, with him using my login on his system, and me using my login on my console, then play together?? Wouldn't PSN know you are using the only one game, how do you create two different BF players with different names???

I don't understand Or is that through SharePlay?? Make User A in this example the one buying all the games from PSN the "Primary Account to this console" on both yours ps4 download vs disc your younger brothers console. Now on your brothers console he can make his own account "User B". Now he can log into User B and play games from User A's account.

You have your account. Your brother has his own. You sign into your brothers ps4 and make your account primary on his system. Doing this gives everyone on that ps4 access to your games and ps plus for multiplayer.

Than say for example you want dying light. You buy the game on the ps store under your account. Does not matter what console it's purchase on. One you Buy it you sign into your account on your brothers ps4 and download the game. Once it's done he can sign into his own account to play it. Than on your ps4 you can play it on your account, ps4 download vs disc. But can't you only have one primary account?

And so if you make your brother's console primary then you can't play on your console right?? I go Digital. Nothing better than ps4 download vs disc invited to kill Crota while you are killing Zombies in Dying Light and not having to swap disks It's like free-ballin. No I know, I was just playing off of what he said about that's what he's gonna do from now on. Yeah this makes sense. The games you play all the time you don't want to be keep swapping discs.

This is exactly what I do. If you have a sibling or close friend that you trust, you can split the cost of a game in half and both of you will be able to play the game online together any time you guys want. The only downside is that during PSN maintenance, one of you will not be able to play the game, which is a non-issue really because, well, maintenance.

Completely worth buying any game at half price. You can't play BF together online though, right, only online co-op games like Dying Light, ps4 download vs disc, right, or am I missing something? It works exactly like you both own the game. How do you both create a character in Battlefield for example? Do you both sign in as the same login?

Or are both consoles set up as the primary and you both sign in as the primary? I do like the price flexibility of physical goods, since pretty much anyone can dictate the price as opposed to relying on what the official venders decide to set it at.

Also, I feel more comfortable with physical goods when it comes to consoles due to the locked down nature of the device, and I like that I have more control over the product. While there are workarounds for the PC something like that might be a but trickier to solve on a console. I would go fully digital for consoles though if digital copies had the guarantee of being backwards compatible with future consoles, but that's unlikely to happen.

It'd cost extra to do so, and there's little incentive to do so when remasters can be made to get people to rebuy the title again or sign up to a subscription plan, ps4 download vs disc. I believe you mean if future consoles have backwards-compatibility, so that e, ps4 download vs disc.

PS5 can play PS4 games, right? They stated that the PS3-system was an awkward monolith and it was impossible to handle it the right way. Now they use a BSD as their core-system, and as long as they stick with it, it won't be hard to make it backwards-compatible. Ps4 download vs disc, if digital copies are compatible, I believe physical copies will be too, as long as no new medium is coming which makes the drives incompatible to blu-rays.

A sort of pseudo backwards compatibility is ps4 download vs disc reason I like discs due to the ability to potentially rip copies of my game years down the line.

Sort of like how I'm able to create an iso of my PS2 games, and reexperience some of the titles with PCSX2 by having it upscale and implement widescreen hacks to play the game with better visuals than I did originally without having to rebuy a remastered version. Of course, the remastered version will be better with the new textures, but still quite a nice improvement over just playing the game on the PS2 or a backwards compatible PS3. And while backwards compatibility might be possible the questionability around it doesn't provide much assurance.

Some of the PS3 digital purchases not being carried over to the PS4 for this generation is part of the reason. Journey though is one that carried over, which is very cool.
